I bought this to use with my laptop because, like most laptops, the keyboard and touchpad aren't up to much. I chose to buy a Microsoft desktop because I've had trouble in the past with optical mice that cause the cursor to jump to corners of the screen. A simple installation disc solves the problem in this case, ensuring that the keyboard and mouse are properly configured. The disc also installs two handy programs that allow you to program various keys and mouse-clicks to perform commands or open any web page or file. The keyboard and mouse are powered by 2 AA batteries, making the mouse a little heavy but not uncomfortably so. The reciever is a bit on the chunky side and has an excessively long cable in my view. For under £30 though, this is a great buy.

I'll never use wired equipment again after using this wireless mouse and keyboard. Absolutely awesome! When I plugged the base unit into my USB port at first I didn't get any response from the keyboard and mouse. However a quick reboot of the PC later and I'm in business.
The mouse is a little heavier than a conventional with-wire mouse because of the 2xAA batteries, but after a few minutes I actually found that this felt better than before - a positive feel to the mouse. Very crisp and error-free movement. As for the keyboard, it feels much nicer than the standard Dell model I was using previously. It's very comforable and the keys feel positive, soft and not too clunky.
Overall, can't be beaten for the price.

After installing the software, inserting the supplied batteries and plugging in the transmitter everything worked first time. The keyboard has a good feel for typing and the additional keys are useful for adjusting the volume and jumping between tracks when playing a CD. As most of the software I use does not require the Function keys I am happy to accept the alternative functions, such as Undo and Help, assigned to them. If you prefer the usual Function keys a single press of the F Lock key returns them to their "normal" state.

Some users may find the weight of the two batteries in the mouse makes the unit heavier than they prefer, though for me it was no problem. It fits my hand and I prefer this shape to the taller ones that come with extra buttons on the side - which I frequently press accidently. The scroll wheel clicks as it rotates, though it is not as well defined as some others I have used. Someone commented that sometimes when they used the scroll wheel the pages reduced in size, which is the default function when you press the wheel. With my example sufficient force was required to make accidental pressing unlikely. If you do find this a problem the feature can be disabled (or changed to another function) in the mouse's software.

Overall I found this to be a good package that meets all my needs at a reasonable price.

I bought one of these sets to go with a PC I built for my kids, it's very easy to set up and use, with the receiver (about the size of a fag packet) being able to be placed out of line of sight of the keyboard and mouse, unlike some that rely on infra red (light beam)transmission. Battery life is excellent, with the mouse battery lasting almost 12 months.
    Well worth the money :-)

This is my first ever wireless mouse and keyboard and it makes a very good impression on me. I've only been using it for 2 weeks so far and am very happy with my purchase. It is simple to set up although I couldn't find the name of my mouse on the drop down menu in setup (I just selected "wireless optical mouse 2.0").

Size wise, it's a bit bulky for my liking. It takes up a lot of my desk top space. However, with its size comes comfort. Buttons are well set out with the delete key being larger than normal (very handy) and the keyboard is easy to touch type on. Everything works well. The instructions say that it works up to 2 metres away from the receiver, and the receiver cable is about 2.5 metres long, and so I can comfortably use my mouse and keyboard from anywhere in my living room. I appreciate the wirelessness - it makes my desk top look much much tidier and is very convenient.

Some complaints though: there were messages concerning the battery status and quality of signal popping up from day one, despite the fact that they were working fine. This was annoying, and I switched off the alerts and I've had no more problems since. Hopefully the batteries will last the stated 6 months. Secondly, there is no off switch on the mouse and so the only way to switch off the red light at the bottom is to take the batteries out. Hopefully the mouse will last about six months without having to take the batteries out every night!

The mouse works well in games as well. I play counterstrike (a first person shooter) all the time and have found no lag as mentioned by other reviewers. Think about it - if there's no lag when moving the mouse cursor around in normal desktop applications, why would there be lag in games?

Delivered free and fast, which is always a great place to start!
This wireless set looks the part and installed more easily than any of the wireless combinations that I've purchased in the past. Once the software was installed and the system rebooted, the keyboard and mouse auto installed and worked 100% from the word go. The keyboard is quiet and although it does not provide particularly good feedback, allows me to type quickly and accurately with none of the "missing characters" that have affected other wireless keyboards I have used. The range of short cut keys is more than adequate and keys are clearly marked. The mouse is smooth and accurate with no obvious caret creep encountered with many wireless optical mice. The buttons are invisible - they are in the usual place, but concealed beneath the casing, but operate perfectly well and allow quick and accurate use. The wheel also provides the usual middle button feature. It works well enough although I do find the wheel a little stiff - it will probably loosen up with use.
AA cells are provided for the keyboard and the mouse. I have no idea of what battery life to expect, but 2 AA cells won't break the bank.
All in all, a good value for money item. I'm very pleased with it and would recommend it to anybody.
