If you are new to SharePoint then this book is for you, plenty of hands-on instructions well explained. I particularly liked the chapter on blogs and wikis. If you have used the previous version of SharePoint, then there is some repetition, however, this book does contain details of workflows, linking up and synchronising data from within Word, Excel, Outlook and Access 2007. In fact, I love what you can now do with Access 2007 and SharePoint.

Book provides exactly what I required, a step by step guide to setting up and using a Sharepoint website - excellent - 'does what it says on the tin'

A comprehensive, useful guide for the Sharepoint newbie. The book lays out all the main features in such a way that you can read it cover-to-cover or pick and choose the ones you are interested in, or which are likely to be useful in your particular workplace. In particular, the exercises on the CD are provided such that you can 'jump in' at any point. The treatment of some subjects is a little sparse, but I think this is intentional - the chapters are 'hands on' designed to get you moving in as short a time as possible. This in mind, it deals with the 'how' and not so much of the 'why', but once you are up and running you can start to delve deeper through further reading or experimentation. Well written and easy to follow, I'd be happy to recommend this book to anyone who needs a 'quick and dirty' introduction to Sharepoint Services 3.0.
