Players can employ more than 30 voodoo attacks that do outrageous things to Vince, but it's the monsters who end up hurting. Players must actually use dangers and hazards instead of running from them. Falling safes, prickly pushpins and bolts of lightning bring a whole new meaning to the phrase "no pain, no gain." Thrust into the depths of a twisted and dangerous world, Vince must trek through crawfish-laden swamps; a graveyard filled with imps and lost zombies, a fantastic French Quarter and a network of boggy sewers. As the game unfolds, Vince must master and pilot a number of vehicles, including a fan boat, a submarine, an aeroplane--even a rat gives him a lift at one point. Vince must master one mind-bending mini game after another to complete his quest. No adventure would be complete without its host of surly characters. Offbeat characters with all the charm of New Orleans are around every corner. Vince encounters everything from Gingerdeadmen, who are not exactly sugar-coated, to a pair of intoxicated gas pumps that offer up a fiery challenge.

The controls:
Controls of the game are very nice, and easy to use, the voodoo attacks are simple enough to master and pounding enemies to a pulp is very nicely thought out when it comes to layout too.
Bosses:
The games bosses are nice and refreshing, they have more characetr then you will see in a lot of games and Vince has to do some serious harm to himself for anything to happen to the enemies. Nicely done with some good humor in it too.
Level design:
I loved Mario 64 because of the huge open spaces provided by the console and it felt like a world rather then a level, New Orleans has ben very well produced in this game with some nice eery stuff too. The worlds do not always seem amazingly open but in most cases I was very impressed, the variation is also very nice with a grungy look to a lot of levels.
Atmospherics:
Good, if not great at all times - simple as that. Some nice music too.
Story:
Well the story is ok, I'll say that and its funny enough, the cut scenes are ok but Madame Charmane annoys the hell out of me, can't say that it really lowers the games quality though.
Sumamry:
If you bought an xbox expecting a powerful amchine capable of making great platforming worlds and have been pretty much sober in terms of that until now then your wait is over, VV is a superb game and deserves more attention then it will probably get. One bad thing in this game is that its a tad short but its still decent if you try and get everything done. Dont expect the next Banjo Kazooie game, but this still rocks.
The story goes that some bad guy has stolen some zombie dust and kidnapped your creator. You play the part of Vince a voodoo doll magically brought to life. The game is innoavative in a number of ways, most significantly the way in which you inflict damage to your enemies. Basically apart from the standard punching, spinning kicks you have the ability to use voodoo magic which entails you inflicting all sorts of imaginative harm on yourself which is then transferred to your foes...sounds weird...works a treat.
This is not by any means a standard platformer, its much more than that, with some great puzzles thrown in to keep you going. It constantly surprises, you genuinely never know whats coming next, and is definitely one of those games that gets better the longer you play.
Its got great visuals, twisted humour and the music gets a special mention for just being downright funky.
If you're a fan of platformers or just want to try something different, give VV a try, you wont regret it.
