3.0 out of 5 stars A Review You Can Trust 24 May 2010
Fun: 3.0 out of 5 stars
You Can trust this review because ive completed the campaign, played online matches and got a full 1000 gamerscore on my gamertag with this game.

The Plot seems to be a cheap budget type, it lacks a wow-factor and im glad off the "Skip cut scene" button, because every second thing you do within the game triggers a video. The acting and voice is poor and the movement of AI is predictable and square.

The gameplay is the positive in this game, movement and controlling is solid and easy to use. As this is more of a "Splinter Cell" game, you have a higher Sneak to Shoot ratio. Shooting the vampires is tense, tough and fun. Its very enjoyable because the fact that if you miss, its more likely a game over and that concludes the toughness of the game. Sneaking is brilliant, although some movements such as "pipe-climbing" can be slow. Sneaking and peeking is fun and choosing ur path is a good challenge. You will die in this game and you will get more than 1 game over (probably about 200!)

The graphics are just over the "PS2" standard. The rain effect is brilliant and the vampires (although not much character variations) look great.

Conclusion: So if u want a tough sneak/shooter with little cash and dont mind average graphics then this is a good investment. But you must be a patient person!

Thanks

3.0 out of 5 stars It's okay in places..... 11 May 2010
Fun: 3.0 out of 5 stars
Being a fan of the film 'John Carpenters Vampires' I bought this game. Despite knowing about the reviews it had got I thought I would judge for myself as it is an old 360 title. It's not too bad at times. I rather like the idea that you can't or shouldn't take the vampires on with ordinary weapons like the pistol but instead try to elude them. The character detail on your character and colleagues is pretty good but the rest of the graphics look ground-breaking....For Playstation 1 standard I'm afraid. Pop up on exterior missions can be horrible but I suppose you could get away with this as it's meant to be nighttime during a storm. Vampires can be stupid, what would've been better is if they had patrolled the streets and rooftops MGS2 style. A nice challenging touch though is that, as vamps are meant to be superstrong, you only take two hits and you're dead and they can leap exceedlingly far etc.

I'm still making my way through this but I have a feeling that although this game doesn't 'suck' like 'Superman N64' standard, I have a feeling that my hopes for more enjoyment will not further.

Rent it maybe.

4.0 out of 5 stars Another take... 25 Jun 2007
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
My opinion of this game is veeeery different to the one below....

Firstly, this is the closest the 360's come to a decent supernatural horror game.

Secondly, its fun. If you like resident evil, blade and splinter cell/metal gear solid, you'll most definately like this game.

I've really enjoyed it so far, an its storyline is what i'd compare to some lesser vampire movies. Its ok, enough to keep you engaged. The idea of vampires being scary instead of cool sets this apart from other vampire titles.

Sure, there are many downsides, the graphics are barely an improvement on early 360 titles, and the gameplay can be rather slow, but cheer up. Its not perfect, but i'll definitely take it!

2.0 out of 5 stars Boring 9 Aug 2007
Fun: 2.0 out of 5 stars
I'll start off with the only good thing: the graphics. A creepy, dark atmosphere is forever present in the street levels.
Now the bad. The script is direly written, but if the gameplay is good, that shouldn't matter. It isn't.
At first climbing around the streets and checking whever someone is a vampire with Necrovision is fun, but soon you realise that the game is incredibly linear. Stealth games especially in this next-gen age are supposed to offer you alternative routes to get around enemies and provide replay value. There are a few back-alleys here and there, but they all soon connect to the same dull linear route.
It soon becomes go forwards, scan, wait for vampire to move, go forwards, scan, wait for vampire to move, etc.
Many people seem to complain that vampires are too powerful, but I think this is a necessity. They don't have guns, so you need a reason not to go in all guns blazing. However, they may have overdone it and put a far too large power range in guns. The only effective gun in the game is the shotgun. The M4 takes just over two mags to kill, and the pistol is just pointless.
It was a neat idea, but unfortunately badly executed. If Vampire Rain 2 comes out and has gampelay to rival Splinter Cell it would be terrific, but I don't have high hopes.

5.0 out of 5 stars masterpiece 27 Feb 2012
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
This game is a wonderful piece of gaming so much effort has been put in by the creators. The graphics are up there with La Noire or Uncharted even, utterly delightful on the eye. Its keeps you gripped throughout and I couldn't stop playing this for days on end. Well done.

5.0 out of 5 stars Alot of fun 19 July 2007
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
I thought the game was fun and absorbing. The plot is quite good though the acting is a bit poor in places (but then it always is in in-game stories). The graphics are not great by x-box 360 standars but they are still reasonble and they certainly dont spoil the excellent gameplay. I have several x-box 360 tittles and this is the frst ame ive played for more then a day or two. Ive found with alot of X-box 360 games that te cotrols aren't great and there not actually that playable. This game has good controls, is easy to understand and most importatly it is a lot of fun. I would recomment, specially if your into vampires :)
