5.0 out of 5 stars Straight forward, practical guidance and advice, 20 Jul 2008

(TOP 500 REVIEWER)    (REAL NAME)
A great guide to implementing a SharePoint solution the first section of the book is dedicated to planning and deploying the solution. This is an area that should not be overlooked, not planning for your SharePoint implementation is the biggest reason for failure. The next section is devoted to how to actually use the portals, there are some useful tips here.

Then the book goes on to describe the various maintenance tasks required to keep the solution running smoothly, again there are some helpful tips here for even the most seasoned expert. The last section of the book goes on to cover how to extend the solution, this section does not cover bespoke development that is covered in a separate book (Microsoft SharePoint 2007 Development Unleashed).

Overall this is a well put together book, well written with plenty of real world solutions I would highly recommend this to anybody who is looking to implement MOSS 07. The companion book (Microsoft SharePoint 2007 Development Unleashed)is defiantly worth getting if you plan to extend what you get out of the box and realise the full potential of the extremely powerful framework.
