Product Description

Manufacturer's Description

Unlike previous titles which were essentially two dimensional, Project Sylpheed is fully 3D like traditional flight sims, but with an emphasis on simple controls and storyline.

Taking advantage of the power of Xbox 360 Project Sylpheed confronts players with a staggering number of enemy craft to destroy, making the game much more than just a retro-update. Not only are enemies more numerous than ever before, they’re larger, with opposition craft hundreds of times the size of Katana’s ship.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not sure at first, but I was suprised 16 July 2009
Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
I saw this game for £3 on this site, so I thought with a label like square-enix & it was not an j-rpg I should try it.
It was interesting, with a typical anime-like story which was like Mobile-Suit Gundam Seed. The battles are very vibrant in colour and on-screen interface manages to pack as much as it can without breaking the game-world. One aspect that I didn't approve of was, If you fail a mission enough times it gives you the option to skip which is negative in my opinion because the cut scenes plots devices are created in battle.
You should try it because it was interesting - bit like ace-combat on drugs

3.0 out of 5 stars Cheaper elsewhere but suprisingly good 18 July 2011
Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
I should hate this game, for a start its filled with japanese style animation which for me is a big no no, then its a space combat game also a big no no...yet i like it...its a great game. Simple but effective, its similiar to alot of mech games as much of it is about upgrading your ship, certain weapons will make you heavier but will no more damage also certain missions have different types of oppenent so you have to adapt your fight accordingly but often you dont know whats on the way, for example if i set my ship out to be effective against other fighters i could end up having to take down massive ships that anti-fighter weapons will not be effective against.

The storyline is actually quite good but nothing that has not been seen a few times in films and games.

Graphics are pretty good but once again nothing that will amaze you.

so why 3 stars, this is a Game you play once all the way through or part way through and never touch again, it does what it says on the tin nothing more. If you like the star wars space fighter games you will like this or even if you like the space battles in battlefront 2 then you will like this.

I would also like to state that although worth the used price on amazon, you can get it cheaper elsewhere so shop around.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good but short 20 July 2007
Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
I love this game. For everyone who liked Zero G and Ace Combat this game rocks. It is incredibly fast, looks good, buttons r tricky but u get used to them. The cut scenes are amazing (there's a few cos the game is heavily story based as supposed to a loose story in Zero G)The story is good but not too involved (its shoot em up not an rpg lol) large selection of weapons.

Downside (always is) NO XBOX LIVE!!! I was quite upset, almost all xbox 360 r live suitable be it good or bad but unfortunately this one don't have anything. (Dogfights like in Zero G would be fantastic in this game)
Missions can be farely long with several mini missions inside (roughly 30 minutes per mission give or take)so its difficult to put down quickly. When u engage over 20 enemies in a dogfight it can judder here and there.

Overall once price comes down a little, buy it, its great fun and looks good just shorter play lifespan.
