4.0 out of 5 stars I love it 23 April 2009
By S. Duncan TOP 1000 REVIEWER VINE VOICE

I've been looking for something as good as this for grouping relevant notes, links and files and never realised it already existed until a workmate started using it. It was so useful for work (notes from meetings being the obvious first) and saved all the notebooks I usually doodle in (yes, I miss the doodling, but only a little) that I bought this copy for use at home for all those projects that need bits of paper everywhere. Fabulous product! I just wish all the keyboard shortcuts from Word worked in here. For some reason they don't.

I use it at home for recipe collections, things I want to do in my new house (with photos and links to useful websites), job searching (I now have a job, but this was so easy to keep track of).

I guess it's like the best ever sticky note collection.

4.0 out of 5 stars fine program, woolly pricing structure 7 Sept. 2009
Verified Purchase
This program was included in the software that came with my other, new computer. I liked it and wanted to install it on my computer at work as well. Unfortunately it was ridiculously expensive when downloaded from the Dutch Microsoft site and, for me, non-downloadable from the US site!

Looking around, Amazon was the best price I could get - 40% of the official price in the Netherlands!

So, full marks to Amazon UK but a BIG demerit to Microsoft for squeezing each market separately and making programs far too expensive abroad. I would have bought/downloaded another program if Amazon hadn't had OneNote, for there is no way I was going tot pay 110 euros for it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Using WORD at last 31 Oct. 2009
Does just what it says on the box. Good product significantly cheaper that the high street - like almost half price cheaper.
Great.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very useful organizational tool for note taking 10 Feb. 2007
By John Margaglione - Published on Amazon.com
I am the last person you want to ask about Microsoft products, but this program seriously sets a new standard for note taking and organizational tools. I spend a lot of time on the phone taking notes from conversations with customers. This is the first product I have used that gets out of my way and just lets me take notes. The software is intuitive, easy to use and feature-rich enough that I really can't think of much that I would add. Yet there are not so many features that you are trying to figure out how to do simple tasks. I would highly recommend this product to anybody that wants to throw away their paper notebooks and move into the 21st century.

4.0 out of 5 stars OneNote-a must have program 6 May 2007
By Alan Barker - Published on Amazon.com
This is a fantastic program, with or without a notebook/tablet computer. If you buy one program, this should be it. Microsoft will even let you try it for free.

OneNote is a repository for any info you create, or come across on the internet including your email. On the business side, you can share your info with a team, and sync with Outlook.

Negatives-its search function is powerful, but requires Windows Desktop Search. This occasionally slows my older system down. Sometimes OneNote will freeze up, requiring a computer reboot. The good news is that it saves as you enter data, so I have never lost anything.

5.0 out of 5 stars Indispensable info management tool 3 Oct. 2007
By Amazon Customer - Published on Amazon.com
I have been using Onenote since it came out, and that means for several years. I find it indispensable. The handiest feature is the quick-launched "Side Note" feature, that sits in the tray at the bottom right of your screen. I can launch this little window with a click and type a thought immediately, or drag something (text and picture) off of the web. Anything you type or drag and drop is saved pretty-much immediately and automatically.

If you have Outlook 2003 or later, you can coordinate this program with Outlook.

If you are into learning or gathering information from all over and like to keep it and file it, this program is for you. You can collect and organize all sorts of information and later, if you wish, clipboard it into Word or Excel or other program.

The search function is handy too. You can search a notebook, a section of a notebook, or all your notebooks (you can create a notebook for each major subject area, like personal, work, art, music, vacation trips, etc.)

Very nifty program, well-thought-out and constructed, smooth-working.
Recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome 1 Nov. 2007
By S. Young - Published on Amazon.com
I used onenote to organize my literature review paper for my graduate school work. I was able to link each of my journal articles to a page which held the quotes and notes needed from each article. Each page was organized by title and other bibliographic information which I was able to flag. I created my reference page in the paper by requesting all the flagged material to one page. The search feature allowed me to pull information from various journal articles without having to remember who said what. I won't ever write a paper without it. For the price, it is incredible.

4.0 out of 5 stars Onenote and freestyle note-taking 16 Mar. 2007
By B - Published on Amazon.com
If you are accustomed to taking notes by hand this program is a easy transition to word processed notes that still allows for freestyle note-taking. The organizing features are excellent and the program allows you to search your notes for keywords.
