MS allows Uni Students to install 1 product on a desktop as well as a laptop, only.

I went to MS CustServices Chat on http://support.microsoft.com/contactus/?ws=support#
At first I'd contacted a private company by mistake listed in a Google search, not MS tech support - be aware.

"After you purchase the software, the PIN number will be given to you.
After you get back to us with the 27 digit PIN number and your university email address, i will help you in retrieving the product key.
You can install Office University 2010 on two computers."

Danoh says:
As printed on the DVD box just received;
"Microsoft Office University 2010 is licensed for one eligible user on one primary and one portable PC."
Also worth noting;
"Restriction: Each eligible user can verify only one Office University 2010 product in a 12-month period."

Proving Eligibility;
1. Go to www.office.com/verify and enter the PIN located inside this package.
2. Log on with your Windows Live-ID, or create one using any email address.
3. Provide your school email address or logon, or international student identity card (ISIC).

Use MS Internet Explorer as the browser when you do the above. I had quirks when I first used Chrome & after the link to my Uni login page was completed, which did not recur when I used MS IE 9.

Hope that has helped?

I brought this for my wife who's a university student. When she put in all of the details uni email so on, no product key email came back. After 2 days we called the microsoft contact centre number, who told us to get back to the seller, whom were Amazon, who told us that there was a problem with the softwear pack we had been sent, and that they would send another, which they did. BUT again the same happened. So again we contacted Amazon, who to be fair, didn't argue, they asked for them both back, and refuned my money. In short DO NOT BUY!! as they do not work and Microsoft call centres do not know what to do with them.!!!!!!!

Can anyone confirm if the product key can be used in a pre-installed 64 bit version? Or does the DVD contain the 64 bit version or just 32 bit? Thanks.

Does anyone know if you have to confirm you are a student every 12 months or will it work when you finish uni?

Ge Hanzhi says:
You don't have to renew or tell them you're a student every 12 months, it just means that one individual is only eligible for this student discount once a year. So it's just like MS office pro at a discount.

As the above said. It's there to stop students from using their discount to become resellers of microsoft office and make a profit, I believe.

Your son should be eligible providing he has an ac.uk college email address.
