You Are buying a download with either option. The difference is that the licence is sent to you via email with download or post for PC.

Yes see the following which I have copied and pasted from FAQ on Amazon site..... Yes. Your 1 user license allows you to transfer Office 2013 applications and suites. You can activate Office 2013 on a new or different PC as many times as you want, but not more than once every 90 days, and not on more than one machine at a time.

I can see your confusion, near the top of the page it says Transfer your license to a different user or a new PC as needed, further down under the section what it includes, it says. One time purchase for the life of your PC; non-transferrable. So to answer your question this is not a one year licence, it says for the lifetime of the PC but in reality it can probably be moved to another PC after a certain period of time. It will not allow you to install it on two or more computers at the same time because it phones home regularly.

No.At my age, 70 plus i certainly am not a student. You can just buy microsoft home and student off the shelf without needing any codes.

I think the new version cleans out the old version. Its probably a good idea to keep a back up, or the means to reinstall the old version.

This programmsuite is downloaded onto your computer and is then independent of the internet. So yes it does!
