Microsoft OEM OneNote 2007, DSP OEI v2, 1 Pack, Medialess Kit (PC)

OneNote is a like a whole notebook - of notebooks. It's absolutely brilliant.

I've been using OneNote for about 6 months now, mainly in conjunction with another super cool program which is not available on Amazon, Ashampoo's Magical Snap 2. Between them they make the most fantastic team of useful software I've ever known.

(Magical Snap has various options for copying parts of a web page or a whole, really long webpage. OneNote is great for pasting into! I've sometimes spent hours copy/pasting for my various projects. But I digress.)

What I really like about OneNote is it's so much easier and more functional that the other similar programs like Evernote (am I allowed to mention that here?) which is good, but doesn't quite do as well as OneNote.

There are 3 main parts to OneNote which I use at the moment:
Notebook, eg personal stuff, business, cars, mobiles.

Then there are sections within within those notebooks:
In personal I have sections for, for example, books & films, fun stuff, travel.
Under biz I have masses of info - websites, webgraphics, ebay, membership sites I belong too, the ebooks I'm writing.

Within the sections are section groups, which can themselves be divided up: so under personal/travel I would have my last couple of holidays and under each holiday a page for each palce with pictures, links to websites etc

I could go on, but I'm getting a bit lost myself.

Here's one aspect that's very useful - writing my ebooks. Working in OneNote makes this a breeze. for any subject I can have it's own section, in which I can have a page per chapter. I can move chapters around simply by sliding them to their new position, then when I'm ready to, I can copy/paste into Word ready to finish off and PDF it all. What's really clever is than I can add the screenshots I've taken with Magical Snap and resize them.

Oh there is so much more. Hyperlinks, for example - which can be to anything on your computer, online. Exporting of a whole notebook, sharing, password protecting sections. I'm sure the MS website can explain it all much better.

To cap it all, you don't even have to keep saving everything, finding names etc. OneNote saves it automatically.

This is truly one of the most versatile and useful MS programs I have ever come across and I am very pleased to be writing about it here. I wish I'd known about it years ago.
