I've been using my 7000 wireless for approx. 4 months now and have had no problems with it at all. In fact, I'm delighted. I use the computer 7+ hours a day so the keyboard has had pretty heavy use. I find the positioning extremely comfortable. It took me just a couple of hours to adjust to the shape of the keyboard and now I can't do without it. The keys have a nice touch - positive but not at all "clunky". I like the feel and positioning of the mouse better than my previous logitech ergonomic mouse. It's solid, reasonably heavy but glides perfectly well with little movement on a mousemat. Performance of both deteriorates when the batteries get low but there are warning lights that tell you when battery level is low. Batteries last for me approx. 2 months.

Only quibble is that 3 of my letters have started to rub off already - as a touch-typist this isn't crucial for me, but if you don't touch-type you might want to bear that in mind. Keyboard and mouse travel every day between home and work (in a musical keyboard bag!) and are none the worse for wear. The keyboard hot keys are useful - mail, web, volume, and my particular favourite, calculator. Overall, I'm extremely satisfied and have found these to be great value for money.

Its been almost a month since I had this for use in office. It attracts every one's attraction due its huge size and design (both keyboard & mouse), some comments even said that it looked like I'm flying an aircraft! I spend an average of 11 hours at the office everyday and started having neck and wrist pains due to the position of my laptop. Now I have placed it at a height to follow the health and safety experts recommendations for monitor positions and use it with my new keyboard. This is my first split ergonomic keyboard which yes is a bit expensive but no more neck pains and my wrist don't hurt much either. It takes a while to get used to it as my fingers have to learn and get accustomed to the split key design. The keys are a bit noisier than the ones on my laptop. The mouse demands a new way of handling it, but I liked the idea of the ergonomics built in to both the keyboard and mouse. There are some extra functions available with the keyboard, but not all of them are really useful for my daily use. I did like the 5 favorite's keys which I have programmed to either take me directly to a folder location or to a website that I regularly make use of. The product promises a long battery life and its too early to comment on that, but at least has been much better than the one I had couple of years ago that needed recharging every two days and was never accurate (discontinued from using it in few months). The laser technology means no more red light from underneath the mouse like the standard optical ones, so that surely improves batter life. Wireless functions means no more wires messing around with flexibility to clear them away should I need space on my desk for short meetings.

Apart from the price, I would recommend this with 5 stars.

Unlike the previous reviewer I like this keyboard to type with, and do use it on my lap. I get on fine with the size and shape of it. I touch type and don't have difficulty with the b key being on the left hand side, however I am not a very experienced typist so it might well have bothered me if I had learned differently.

I gave up using the mouse within a week, however. For gaming I find the movement to be sluggish and imprecise, even with sensitivity maxed. I have gone back to using my cheap wired genius optical mouse with an extension cord which is far superior. I don't get on with the ergonomic shape of the mouse either as it's a big lump raised high off the base surface, and it has a small footprint in relation to its height so it feels unstable to me.

The dealbreaker with this set though is that I get terrible wireless function - the range is supposedly 10m. I get reliable range of about 2m with fresh batteries, but only if the usb receiver is planted in a front usb port on my pc and there are no objects between the keyboard and receiver. I don't want to have a usb receiver in the front of my pc because it looks ugly, is vulnerable to knocks and blocks up the other usb port so I can't use them for pen drives which is of course what they are really there for. Even with this arrangement every 10 minutes or so the connection will freeze for a few seconds until I move the keyboard around a bit or wait. Any other configuration and reception is considerably worse with breaks every 30 seconds or so on average, or no connection at all until I 'show' the keyboard to the receiver. For this kind of money I expected far better.

Verified Purchase
I have used these keyboards for many years. I bought one from Amazon last year, and as has been mentioned by a number of previous reviewers, the keys and space bar felt 'sticky', hard to use and noisy. This keyboard broke and on contacting Amazon, they sent out, very quickly, a replacement.

This replacement is a revalation, the keys are much smoother, you dont have to punch the space bar and it is much quieter than previous models. I would now highly recommend this keyboard to anyone. It looks as if Microsoft have listened to customer complaints and resolved the previous issues.
