Microsoft Flight Simulator 2002 has come on in leaps and bounds since the last edition. With improved graphics, greater realism and plenty of options you will be hard pushed to find a better flight simulator.
They always say that God is in the detail, and the Flight Simulator team have proved it here. The main difference you will notice straight away is in the landscape detail, taking on ideas that they have learnt through previous versions and their work on Microsoft Train Simulator (it's the same team), they have produced scenery that is very impressive.
The sea shimmers in the sunlight, while waves crash against the sea shore. Improved detail also means that certain cities like Las Vegas have character to them--you can see the lights and fireworks at night--while some airports now have the facilities for you to dock at specific gates.
It's not just the scenery that has been improved; Microsoft Flight Simulator has now got a fully interactive Air Traffic Control system allowing you to request everything from landing procedures to traffic information. The need for a runway is no guarantee however, as the game has also introduced an amphibian plane to contend with, allowing you to land on any lake, sea or river.
With so many features including downloadable live weather, multiplayer functions and even an analysis option to record your flights, this is one hefty product that will quench the thirst of any flight sim fan. --Jason Denwood

Flight sim; flying high or going to crash and burn?,

After buying this the standard version of flight simulator although I had no difficulties installing the program the program is very jerky on low spec computers in particular when the graphics cards is getting old. Although the huge bank of airports that can be flown from provides enourmous possibilities the detail for each area providing they are not on part of a preprogrammed flight is quite poor and often incorrect. The number of aircraft to chose from provides a good variety of types of flights from the helicopter tour to the lakeside landings the contol seems sublime. Although the control of the plane neccesary to do exactly what the program dictates is very cumbersome the basic controls are either onscreen or easy to learn. overall this games is good fun and gives a long life before becoming boring. The game is as close as you can get to real flying without taking off really and allows the user to pilot in a huge variety of situations. There are many pre-made flights imported form flight simulator 2000and new ones to add. Overall this game despite being on the pricey side is well worth itfor real enthusiasts with plenty of time on their hands.

Basicly this is one hell of a game with only two planes missing from the pro edition but dont worry the amphibious one is there.The Graphics are exelent, the airports are realistic and the planes will blow you away (or mabey fly you away).Sorry Bad pun. I say Buy this game. 5*
