Having used excel in one form or another for years now, I was curious to see whether this millenium edition was a significant improvement over the very good 97 version. There is no single big innovation here, rather a suite of minor improvements to what is an already superb performer. I particulary liked the new web query tools - a distinct improvement over earlier versions. Here you can better control the source, appearance and refresh frequency of external web data e.g. share prices.

I had already purchased Word 2000, so I decided to buy Excel 2000 as well, I prefer the older versions, there easier to get to grips with at my age, than the new versions, I only need these two programs, as it's a home computer, and I don't work due to a Disability. but I'm very happy with the program. and the price was excellent.
