My feelings about Encarta 2000 Standard were mixed. Content was patchy. Some subjects covered well but others were lacking. Limited number of sound clips, images and video, but then again a I guess CD-Rom only has so much space. (DVD-Rom version should be better) The overall look and presentation was very drab and boring. I can imagine children being put off by this. (To see how it should be done see Dorling & Kindersly CD-Roms) And one of my biggest complaints is I can't copy The CD-Rom on to my HardDisk and run it from their. (Which you can with many other CD-Roms). But I suppose you do get a lot for your money.
