Earlier versions of Visio were relatively cheap and easy to use and this programme was (and is) very useful for creating diagrams including semi-technical diagrams, as well as very good flow charts.
The good points are:
* The interface is old style i.e. NOT Office 2007 (how much longer?)
* It still creates great charts
* It's still easy to use
The bad points:
* Too many Microsoft inspired useless "themes" in dire colours
* Too many useless options
* Slower to use than previous versions due to "feature rich enhancements"
* Bloated programme size
* Microsoft licensing!
Summary:
* Still very good for creating diagrams
* Gradually being ruined by Microsoft
* Bloated programme size
There are alternatives which are cheaper e.g. SmartDraw

Lets face it, most people will use this product to produce flow-charts. At the price it's simply too expensive to do this. It's worth looking around for other alternative products.
I am a child that is still in secondary schooling and I love designing buildings. This product can be used by any business. Flowcharts, Building Plans, Site Plans, Site Security, Simple Drawings, Maps, Road layouts, Wiring Diagrams, Plumbing diagrams,Part Diagrams, office layouts, computer system layouts, calendars etc can all be created and used on this program.
It is expensive but I love it.
