I purchased this product to use in my netbook prior to a motorcycle trip to Spain in May 2010.
Since we caught an overnight ferry-boat from Genoa to Barcelona, I got a kick out of finding our position at sea through the GPS receiver and tracking our progress on the map. Since we could receive 6 to 8 satellites, the position fix was pretty accurate -- a lot more so than the announcements that were made on board.
I then used the mapping software to plan our daily tours and calculate distances. Hotel information contained in AutoRoute, while not 100% exhaustive, is pretty helpful nonetheless.
While the maps are supposed to be up-to-date, however, I found that some new roads in my area (Milan) simply are not featured in this 2010 edition, even though they exist since 2008.

Brilliant mapping and, although not too easy to use, it has many features that can be set by user to give very accurate route information. ie driving speeds, fuel costs. GPS feature runs very well on my laptop.

The map data will not be updated - you have to buy the next complete upgrade. I bought the 2007 version with GPS in 2008, and was immediately guided along roads which had been closed. It's good for overall planning, I've used it for years - you can amend the route and get good estimates of driving times. But to actually arrive I think you need a proper Satnav system - which I am now looking for.
Shame they don't just download new map data.
I've now (July 2010) bought a Tom Tom Start 2 and am delighted so far - not yet had to upgrade maps - but it's saved my licence by bleating loudly when a speed camera is near.

Not compatible
Not compatible with windows 7 start up errors - waste of money - how can one get returns when you have to open the packet to see if it works?

MS Autoroute Europe GPS 2010
Excellent product for the price. Despite having both in-car SatNav and a Garmin, a PC Routefinder is still a necessity.
