First I thought it wouldn't be thick enough,I even considered buying 2 mattresses to put on top of each other. But when it came and fitted perfectly into the crib it was perfect everything, it's about 3 cm thick. It's firm enough to give all support needed for a newborn baby and soft to touch. Happy with the purchase.
