About the Author

This is a brilliant book for a technical second-year micro course. Covers producer, consumer theory, general equilibrium, welfare and game theory with applications to government and design in great detail. Very accessible with a good knowledge of elementary calculus, real analysis and linear algebra. I recommend it very much. Used at LSE for Prof Cowell's course.

Not an introduction

To repeat myself and make this perfectly clear; this is NOT an introductory text on the subject on Microeconomic theory. What the intermediate-level books tell you is simply restated as obvious in a very abrupt manner in this book, which is great if you know the basics, but it must make this a very frustrating book to grasp if you don't.
I mainly used this book to expand upon my understanding of the calculus and more advanced applications of Microeconomics, and for that it was great.
I give 4 stars instead of 5, because with little effort this book could have been far more accessible without loosing it's worth to advanced students.
