4.0 out of 5 stars Basic Microbiology for the undergraduate 27 April 2006
Format:Paperback
I bought this book whild doing undergraduate microbiology. I prefer Brock's biology of Microorganisms personally. But it is a personal choice. This books is more comprehensive than Brock, and it covers certain topics in more detail than Brock, which you will realise if you are doing 2nd microbiology as well. However, Brock also has topics which are better and all in all, I think the two books compliment each other.

5.0 out of 5 stars Ideal 8 Jan 2012
By Kesh
Format:Hardcover|Amazon Verified Purchase
An older edition was ordered from France and despatched to the Netherlands to keep a student happy. The current edition is very expensive so this was an evaluation copy for a few quid. In the end it did the job and became the working copy. No problems.

5.0 out of 5 stars An absolute fountain of information 22 Dec 1999
By Clare Maslin - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover
This book is both fascinating and broad enough to be reliable as a reference. Can be picked up and flicked through or read topically. Rivals Madigan et al. Excellent illustrations and on the right level for undergrads.

5.0 out of 5 stars Essential for all Biological Science Majors 24 April 1999
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover
My professor intended this book to be a reference for the microbiology course he taught. I personally found the book to be so interesting and well done that I just dived right into it, and still find more new things each time I crack it open. As a dual Biochemistry and Microbiology major, this book is going on my reference shelf.
