OK I bought one of these and I can confirm that it doesn't work with the LG POP! So Mr Hogg must be a liar! In fact after much research it seems that there isn't an adapter for the LG POP and the generic ones won`t work.
The only way to get the audio from the POP into an external amp is to hack the supplied headphones. Apparently you have to cut the ear pieces off and wire them to a 3.5mm headphone socket. It's important to leave the call answer button on the rewired cable. I haven't tried this as I don't won't to destroy my headphones but some people seem to have had some success.
If anybody finds an adapter that does work please let me know.

The Vodafone 547 touchphone comes with only average type earphones. If you want to use your own earphones that come with a standard 3.5mm plug, then you will need this adaptor with the USB type B micro to 3.5mm. I looked in a lot of places prior to finding this adaptor here. There are quite a few mini and micro USB plugs on the market and this one fits the 547 phone. By coincidence, if you have a Amazon Kindle then the plug for charging is also a USB type B micro. The company Xylo were very helpful in confirming the correct adaptor.

I bought this and attached my head phones.. then put it in my phone and the played a song and it just came out of the speakers?
