5.0 out of 5 stars Fabulous treat 24 Nov 2010
Format:DVD
Mickeybo and me are about two young kids belonging to different sides of the bridge in Belfast in the 1970s. They accidentally meet and together they roam the streets of Belfast during the "troubles". Having families who had their minds elsewhere they got ample opportunities to slip away. Mickeybo is the tougher character who gets Jon Jo along on his "missions" that is to say stealing and breaks in. They run into problems and escape to "Australia".The movie reflects in a great manner their life as fugitives.
The movie both funny and sad. The children experience the hard core of life, which a kid never ought to take part in. It reflets the troubles without being too specific about it.
I used this movie in the English classroom. It became a huge success. My students simply loved it and became very into the two kids on the run. Wonderfully acted and good drive. There was no standstill.
I really recommend it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Classic Irish Humour 7 Mar 2010
Format:DVD
Really good laugh. Just hearing the Belfast accent is funny never mind the innocents of the two young boys and their quick wit is hilarious. Well worth a watch (several times I have to say).
