Ok. Not every good restaraunt appears in the Michelin guide, but every restaraunt in the guide is a good one. If you cannot go by personal recommendation, the guide will always provide an insight into where a good meal can be obtained. Also, with the "Bib Gourmand" awards, where a first-rate but inexpensive one can be got. Although the guide's reputation has suffered at the hands of inverted snobs, it is still a reliable guide to eating out. Thoroughly recommended.

This book is more about ALL the restaurants in London rather than the "select" restauarants I had hoped for. I recently dined at the Ivy and enjoyed the experience so wanted to try others. This was my review book of choice. Unfortunately whilst it does include the upper restaurants it also includes many pubs (Gastro?) and smaller local restaurants which i would use the term loosely.
That said it is an interesting read and worth the £5 i spent on it. It was just not the sort of book I was looking for. I wanted more in depth reviews of the top restauarants, their owners, chef and menus.

The 2012 London Michelin Guide is another great release from the famous Michelin Guides but there is plenty of room for improvement.
Some of the bib gourmand restaurants have very vague reviews with some not even giving one clear aspect of what's the food in that establishment like. The layout is slightly complicated, and the symbols system is also very vague. Great Guide but not very inviting overall when it's quicker and easier to get a much better review online for most restaurants in London.
