I am the daughter of the late singer Matt Monro and it is only since he passed away that I started writing in earnest although I did write a 90-page intimate portrayal on Matt Monro for EMI some years ago. It actually took me three years to write 'The Singer's Singer', mainly because I wanted to make sure the content was accurate and there was a lot of research to do. What one might not realise is that I have also published a 'special' edition of the book called 'Matt Monro -Special Reserve', which is also available on Amazon, and within that set is a second book which includes the singer's sessionography, discography as well as all the television and radio stations that he appeared on throughout his career.
'I have also been writing the CD notes for EMI for the last ten years and I love the fact that the content is personal to the album rather than just a short biography on the artist. Although I am hungry to start writing another book I have found the year packed full of promotion for this product and as well as radio and press interviews, I have appeared on BBC Breakfast and QVC twice. I have been going around the country doing book signings and presentations and it has been fabulous meeting the fans along the way.
If you do decide to invest in this book I hope you enjoy the journey and learn more about what Matt Monro contributed to the music industry - I can promise you it isn't dull.
