Anyone who has followed Michael Elphick's career, and remembers him in Sargeant Sschultz and Boon, will enjoy this warm portrayal by his daughter Kate. Nothing is hidden. It is quite heartbreaking.

Saw this in waterstones and got it for xmas this year. A very touching account by Mr elphicks daughter. I'm just over halfway through and he is establishing himself. Its very sad what happened to him and what the press did at the end must have been terrible for the family. This is putting the record straight and I'm enjoying it emmensly.

I grew up with Michael and knew him well. I would recommend this book especially to Cicestrians and also to those who followed his career. I was disappointed at little mention of the chums he grew up with who could have contributed volumes to Kate's book. Bill Bray was only one of many. Maybe there is another book on the way !

Biography is not my chosen genre but I purchased this because of a connection with Kate. I particularly enjoyed the more personal sections. I realised that Michael had an all embracing career though I was only aware of his television work - made me want to see Boon again and watch Withnail...
