The writing sometimes is "overblown," but it's an interesting biography of Michael Douglas. The book is from 1995. Two facual errors in the book do make you wonder if the author also made other factual mistakes. The two factual errors: 1) The author says that Jimmy Carter was an "unknown senator" before becoming president. Carter wasn't a senator, he was a governor. 2) The author says about William Calley, convicted after the Mylai massacre, that "the court martial...imposed a death sentence on Calley." That's incorrect. Calley was sentenced to life imprisonment - but was finally released after 3 and a half years. A biography shouldn't have factual errors like that - it makes you wonder how correct anything else in the book is. But the book is fairly interesting about Douglas' life and career.
