Stunning visuals & flying fingers, 20 Feb 2004
This review is from: Michael Chapman - Journeyman Live on the Tweed [DVD] (DVD)
Michael Chapman playing acoustic in a atmospheric location in a club in front of a wall of blue note jazz posters.
Journeyman is filmed from 3 camera angles and presents material from Rainmaker his first album (One time thing) through to pieces from Americana 2 and Twisted Road his latest offerings.
Lots of closeups of those hands for guitar acolytes. Stunning performances of Memphis in Winter & Postcards of Scarborough. Distinctive vocals and that hypnotic playing.

Classic Michael Chapman Concert, 12 Dec 2009
This review is from: Michael Chapman - Journeyman Live on the Tweed [DVD] (DVD)
OK so the videoing technique is not first class at least the material of the recording is. Michael is at his standard for what I have become to be known as Michael at his brilliant recent best live, at least since the release of Navigation; tracks from which are also included. Standard Michael Chapman concert humour is also included in the recording. Am an avid Michael Chapman music concert goer.

Magic, 28 Dec 2004
This review is from: Michael Chapman - Journeyman Live on the Tweed [DVD] (DVD)
Well, it was worth the wait. This is the DVD of the man who inspired a generation of folkie guitarists to leave the twelve bar blues and showed us what we could do with a guitar. Words are superfluous really but if you have ever thought you could play an accoustic twelve string watch this and think again. The only down-side is that it reminds me how careless are the people at Cambridge for ignoring this massive talent over the years.
