Book Description

18 Sep 2003 Mitchell Beazley Wine Guides
Michael Broadbent explains how the vintage makes the wine and why vintages are so important. He answers basic questions about what a vintage is and what conditions make a good or poor vintage. He explores the effect of vintage not only on the style and quality of the wine, but also on the quantity produced in a given year. The vintage years are listed in chronological order for ease of reference, and there is also information on the character and readiness to drink of a wide array of wines. More than a century of wine vintages are covered. Quick-reference quality ratings for each entry are also included.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Compact Guide for Aged Wine 8 Nov 2011
By Shaq98101 - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover|Amazon Verified Purchase
In my opinion, most wines made today are crafted with immediate gratification in mind and/or ridiculous concentration. The problem? The wines will likely not transition to elegant and well balanced aged wines. This compact guide helps identify vintages from the past that are likely worthy of your attention and money. The book is in great condition and was delivered within the timeframe provided.
