I'm not quite sure exactly why...I had a fantastic christmas and I was in a perfectly good mood, but when I sat down and watched this concert DVD I could not help but be very very disappointed. Don't get me wrong. I'm a big MB fan and normally like every concert and CD that he does, but I ended up skipping through this concert and it left me feeling rather empty. I felt that the camera work was rushed with several fast moving zoom in/out angles and the band were limited and Michael Ball himself looked at times like he was either tired or just couldn't be bothered. I didn't like much of the song choice either. It was nothing on previous concerts which featured a string of songs from a variety of shows including Les Mis, Blood Brothers, Evita to name a few. Plus he put his hand to songs by Amy Winehouse and more recent artists. However here, we just got a lump of Broadway classics which felt rather boring and lazy to be honest. The DVD itself is badly printed and mis-leading. There are type errors e.g. it says he sings "Pretty Woman" and he doesn't...it is a spelling mistake and instead he sings a new song from his next project. The Tracklist also jumps about and is hard to follow. Putting all this aside - there are some good points. When Michael Ball is on top form he truely is. It's just a shame that it isn't all the way through. His backing singers were fantastic as always. Although at times it felt like they were doing more of the concert then he was and making a far better job of a poor selection of songs. Sorry Michael - I'm a fan, but I didn't like this one at all.
