I bought this to provide seating between a computer desk and a counter till and its perfect for both, where we keep having to stand each and every time a customer needs our attention

It arrives flat packed, four screws to attach the base unit to the seat with the Allen key provided, the rest slots together. The casters must be attached to allow the centre column to properly sink into the leg assembly. The base unit is not subject to any movement once attached so tighten the screws up properly and they shouldn't work loose. It isn't very clear but it is in the instructions, there is a black safety cap on the centre column that has to be removed before assembly, if you don't remove the black safety cap you will end up with a very tall stool !!

The height is adjusted by sitting on the seat at its lowest level [about 2ft] and pushing a lever, you then raise and lower your butt with your feet on the floor and let go when you have reached a desired height. It is very difficult to make it too high so your feet don't reach the floor but if you have somehow managed it, just sit on it and pull the lever to correct the mistake.

I am 5' 10" but I have colleagues sharing this seat who are 6' 4" and no-one has problems scooting between a regular height computer desk and a shop till counter, adjusting the seat as they travel between the two different height surfaces. The stool doesn't have locking wheels which some people might need but, with your feet resting on the floor, you don't need it.

This is not sold as bar stool. I would imagine that to raise the stool to a bar height you would end up in a predicament !

The only reason this does not get five stars is that it doesn't go as low as I would have liked. It is a real help to me as I have very painful arthritic hips and can't stand for long periods. This stool means that I can whizz around the kitchen, doing the washing up, preparing food, etc. without my ending up in my chair popping painkillers!

We bought one of these Miadomodo stools for use around the house. A minimal amount of self assembly is required, and, the only tool required (an Allen Key) is supplied together with clear instructions - it takes around 5 minutes. The quality of the stool is very good for the price and the seat is generously upholstered. In addition, the castors and stand are sturdy and feel as though they will last, plus the fact that are 5 rather than 4 castors makes the stool considerablly more stable than some others. The only thing to bear in mind is that this is marketed as a bar stool and therefore is quite high even on its lowest setting. Recommended.

I am a little disappointed with the stool. It is well made and of good quality. I wanted it to be able to sit in the kitchen to prepare vegetables etc, but unfortunately, although the rise and fall mechanism works, the seat don't stay in the raised position and goes down as soon as it is sat upon. What a pity for it is very strong and well made.

What exactly is this 'stool' for? - Is it a bar stool? is it a work stool? The answer is neither, read on.

- Totally useless as a bar stool - because (a) There didn't appear to be a wheel locking mechanism (b) There is no foot rest.
So if you ever did manage to climb aboard this thing when positioned at a bar stool height, your legs would be dangling freely in the air and you'd be rolling across the floor as soon as you lean your arms on any surface. (Though I concede this may be fun after a few cocktails)

- Totally useless as a work stool - because (a) The lowest setting is still too high (b) The seller's dimensions/description are incorrect. (though I fancy they'll correct this oversight after reading my review)
Anyway, your feet won't reach the ground when positioned at it's fully lowered level. I'm taller than average and even I couldn't wheel the accursed thing around while on 'tip-toes'.

All is not lost though, as I have some suggestions for proposed use of this 'stool' :-
1 - Buy a few and stage your own 'Stoolympics' i.e. racing, downhill, freestyle, figure skating, polo etc.
2 - Turned upside-down, would make nice hanging storage for clothes that wont fit in your wardrobe, or for necklaces and bracelets.
3 - Plant stand/jardiniere.
Oh and while I'm at it......don't you just love those sellers who reel you in with a tempting price, then hit you with such hefty postage charges? *gnashes teeth with sardonicism*
