The new, combination handles are riveted for durability, engineered for balance and feature 'soft touch' inserts for added comfort and safety. The unique glass straining lids have deep walls with straining holes on opposite sides, by simply lining these up with the pouring lips, the tricky task of straining hot food can be achieved quickly and easily in one safe operation. During cooking, the holes allow for excess steam to be released, minimising the risk of boil-overs, when turned away from the pouring lip, the level of steam escaping is reduced. The Stockpot also has the facility of a lockable lid, allowing optimum safety when draining or pouring large quantities of liquids. Select Stainless Steel has a fully encapsulated, friction bonded base with an aluminium core and stainless steel protector, which ensures even heat distribution and eliminates 'hot spots.

This is the second Stockpot that I have purchased - this one is for my daughter in America. I have had mine for over a year and it is faultless. The design is superb, it heats up evenly, ideal for marmalade and large stews etc. The locking lid is a brilliant idea. What other pan of this, or any other size, can you tip upside down to drain the contents in complete safety? The two different diameter drainage holes suit coarse vegetables or rice with no loss of contents other than liquid. It is made of the best quality stainless steel and mine has remained stainless! Similarly the full width glass lid really does mean that you can see what is happening during the cooking process. My glass lid is still crystal clear and I cannot say that for other make that I have had in the past. It is part of the Meyer Classic collection and other pans in the series have similar features.

We liked the handles on this saucepan which have plastic inserts which making picking up a hot pot a lot easier. The lid has a locking device to aid draining which is handy, but makes washing up a bit more fiddly- no problem in a dishwasher.
