The hard wearing, porcelain enamel exterior finish is now available in two attractive colours, black and almond, both have colour co-ordinated handle inserts - bringing both style and safety to your kitchen. The new combination handles feature stainless steel for durability, phenolic for its cool to touch qualities and a non-slip thumb grip to improve safety and comfort. The unique glass straining lids have deep walls with straining holes on opposite sides; by simply lining these up with the pouring lips, the tricky task of straining hot food can be achieved quickly and easily in one safe operation. The triple layer non-stick interior provides outstanding food release for easy clean convenience and healthy cooking.

    A well designed product suitable for both left and right-handed users.

    It has a good quality non stick Teflon surface which should last well if the manufacturer's advice is followed.

    Even when filled the saucepan remains fairly light to handle which could be an advantage to those with arthritis in their fingers and hands.

    The one disadvantage found so far is that should it be accidentally knocked or dropped onto a hard floor surface, even if still empty, the saucepan is likely to bend slightly. Not to the extent that it will be visible to the naked eye but just enough to stop the lid sitting properly anymore.

    Of course such accidental damage would not be covered by warranty. My mother who by no means can be considered clumsy was disappointed to damage one of hers so soon after buying the set. I bought her this replacement from Amazon just to keep the set in mint condition.

    If you think this sort of mishap is likely to happen to you it would be wiser to look at something more robust but heavier.
