    A superb product! I don't know how I ever managed without this steamer. I use it almost every day and it is standing up well to the continual use. It cooks vegetables quickly and they taste delicious. The steamer parts retain their shiny exterior as well through constant daily washings.

    I'll never understand why there's a market for electric steamers with timers, given that vegetable cooking times (whether boiling or steaming) can vary by 2-3 minutes, and the units themselves create additional clutter on surfaces that would normally be used for preparation. Why bother when you can use one of these Prestige steamers on the hob?

    I've already owned a set of Prestige stainless steel pans for several years, which is why this particular item appealed to me. And while it has already lived up to its brand name from a quality point of view, I do feel it's a little on the small side. If you intend steaming more than three/four vegetables for more than one person, *do* consider the larger Prestige steamer also available at this site.

    I find that it's big enough to steam broccoli, cauliflower, potatoes, carrots and green beans simultaneously, but only for one person's Sunday dinner. Also note that larger vegetables (like florets, and sometimes potatoes) must go in the top insert because the lower one is too shallow once they are slotted together. On the plus side though: All of those vegetables are being cooked on a single hob. Think about how much hob space would be taken up if you were simmering them!

    I will be keeping this steamer, but I do intend to buy the larger one within a few weeks, so that I can steam vegetables for several people when I have friends around for dinner.

    Really good value for a good brand item that steams perfectly (I steamed veggies for the first time on Christmas day using it and was mightily impressed), and allows you to see what's going on with the glass lid.
