My old flash was an Olympus FL-36, similar to Olympus FL-36-R Wireless Flash, thus I needed a new one when I switched Pentax, and I opted for the stronger, better, and more advanced than the Olympus unit, the Metz Mecablitz 58 AF-1 (which is available in various versions, also for the Olympus users).
Quite a lot more advanced than the Olympus it adds a lot of features, including an extra flash unit directed forward, so you have two flashes in one! And as it has more power than my previous unit it recharges very fast in normal use, and can be useful at very long distances! I love using it, not least on top of my Tamron 70-200/2.8.
A good buy, if a wee bit expensive!

Love this Flash! my only gripe is the long-winded menu system to change the settings - really tiresome and not clever if you're in a hurry. I have no idea what other flashes are like in this respect, maybe they are all the same.

Can't do better!
HAve been using now for more than 6 months and really love it. Accurate exposure, fill flash is very handy. Recharge rate is excellent.

Good construction quality
Easy to use and work flawlessly in every mode with my K10D Pentax SLR
However, wireless flash when use 58 AF in slave mode and use my K10D build-in flash unit as master flash sometime not work properly if I place the 58AF at the right side of my camera but work very well if I place it at the left side of camera
I love the secondary reflector as will recommend it to my friend as a substitute to the Pentax AF540FGZ unit
