Japanese-Wii-only owners should know that this is your only option when it comes to the original Metroid Prime. Personal preferences aside, I feel it is important to note american Wii owners got "Metroid Prime Trilogy", a thoughtful compilation of the 3 titles ("MP3: Corruption" is included) which boasted much more value.
Metroid Prime (Wii de Asobu) plays flawlessly with the remote-nunchuk combo. Also, it offers control-sensitivity settings to suit your level of accuracy and speed with the remote as well as several handy display settings. As a plus for the game (and unlike Metroid Prime Trilogy), this version does feature the original title screen and its corresponding theme. However, for reasons unknown to this gamer, there have been several name changes when it comes to the different regions of the planet where the game occurs. These new names are very generic and take away from the sense of identity the actual names provided to the game world. Still, new players will not even notice these as they don't affect gameplay.
If you have a Wii, any Metroid Prime fan will tell you to start with this title since its engrossing sense of atmosphere will suck you right in. If you like the original Prime then there is chance you will like "Metroid Prime 2: Echoes" very much as well (you can leave "Corruption" for last). =)
