The ironing stool was bought as a perch stool for use after my forthcoming hip operation. There were no assembly instructions but my 9-year old grandson was able to work it out reasonably well. It was subsequently put completely right by my son. At least, we think so. Assembly instructions would have made all the difference. That said, the stool itself is proving to be a comfortable resting place when I need to take the weight off my legs/hips. Having a very small kitchen, I was hoping to be able to fold it away when not in use but it is not possible to collapse it completely as the seat does not fold up. However, it can lean against a wall when not in use and is light and easy to move about as needed. I am happy with it and it will do the job I had in mind for it. Good value from this point of view. I had ordered it on the complimentary 'next day delivery' scheme but I think it came from Scotland where the weather was atrocious, so I was not surprised that it took about 5 days to reach me.

This stool is used in my DIY workshop and fits the bill exactly. It is sturdy, has safety features to prevent it folding when in use, is easily adjustable to the right height for various uses and folds flat simply for out of the way storage on a wall hook. The seat cover is removeable for washing (although this has not been necessary yet). All in all I am very pleased and would strongly recommend it.

I bought this stool as I have a broken leg and wanted something to sit on in the kitchen for short periods, for cooking and washing up. I find it perfect for this, it folds up neatly out of the way (unlike specialist 'medical' perching stools), and is easy to set up and put away. I wouldn't find it comfortable for long periods of time, but part of that might be because of having a broken femur! I would recommend it for convenience, ease of use and value for money.

I thought this item was an excellent purchase. Having been struck down with a trapped nerve and unable to stand I have found it invaluable in the kitchen. I can see that it would be very useful for craft work as well. It is quite sturdy and I cannot understand the reviewer who thought it was a poor product. I am 5 feet 2 ins and although not a heavyweight am not slight and I found the seat perfectly adequate. Has made the world of difference, particularly in the kitchen. Two of my friends who saw the stool immediately bought one. Instructions for setting up could be better explained but nevertheless highly recommended.

After reading all the reviews for this and other ironing/ adjustable height stools, I bought this for my mum as a perching stool at the sink, doing odd jobs around the flat, as a spare seat at table for visitors. She wasn't at all sure about it when she unwrapped it and I thought I'd made a big mistake, but she really loves it - the height adjustment, the fact it's comfortable to sit on, the fact it can fold flat.... If you're not sure, just do it - buy it!!!! Highly recommended.
