Having already purchased series one of the eponymous retro robot, which contained eight great episodes, I bought series two expecting the same standard of comedic charm. However, there were fewer episodes in series two and aside from the hairdressing episode which was amusing, I wasn't impressed at all. Series one was a hard act to follow, so it was to be expected that second time around, the humour wouldn't be as razor sharp as it was first time out. I am still a huge metal mickey fan, but I feel that, from a writer's point of view, Mickey's mad misdemeanours are overshadowed by the relationship developing between janey and Mickey's creator, and this spoiled the ethos of series two for me, but for those of you who loved metal mickey when you were younger, indulge your inner child and get a piece of this platinum piece of twentieth century children's television. You can do it! (boogie boogie!)
