I bought this model to make for my grandfather who collects model cars. It came in two sheets of lasercut metal and a yellow sheet of instructions. Altogether, it took me about 3 hours to put together (I took my time as it was a gift) and it came out beautifully. My grandfather absolutely loved it and marveled at the detail and intricate parts.
A lot of folks are complaining about how hard the model is or how unintuitive it is. To respond to their first complaint: duh. It is a model. If you want something that is easy to put together, get a tube of tinker toys or legos. The whole idea behind a model like this is to have something that is challenging, takes time, and when you are done, you have something exquisite. The model was meant for adults, not five year olds.
To respond to their second complaint: The instructions are a bit cryptic at first, but on closer inspection, they are actually quite simple. The instruction look like something IKEA cooked up - simple, a tiny bit cryptic, but very effective. If you take the time to read the legend, the instructions are easy as pie.
