If you found "Illusions" every bit as mind-boggling yet life-affirming and life-changing as I did, you could probably use this little book in your hand/man-bag as an every-day port of call for all those times when things get rough and you could benefit from gentle wisdom and a little bit of perspective.

My only gripe is the edition: I don't like hardbacks, but bought this as it was advertised as "flexible suede" so I thought I could throw the dust-cover away and have a nice, smooth, soft suede booklet. Had I known that the cover is actually rigid and fake-feeling, I would have waited 'till it came out in paperback: as the book really is quite small (reading it cover-to-cover shouldn't take you more than half an hour, though that is not what it's for), I thought I was paying for beauty and style of edition. I was wrong.

In conclusion: buy this title, but wait.

A great opportunity to take part in one of the most inspiring stories ever told. Just as described in 'Illusions', the Messiah's Handbook has been rediscovered and published so that all can share its wisdom. Can be read before or after reading 'Illusions', it doesn't really matter, although 'Illusions' is as relevant today as it ever was.
My only observation was that the quote about Perspective was missing - I wonder why?

Those who have already read Illusions might be tempted by this.
DO NOT buy the electronic, Kindle, version.

This is supposed to be picked up and flicked to random pages. A bit of fun, but useless on the kindle.
I'm surprised Amazon offer the electronic format at all.

The most benefical way to use this book is as follows; hold the book between your hands.Ask the question that is uppermost in your mind, open the book at random, read both pages. The correct answer is there, but not necessarily the one you want.

The most fantastic book, outhweighing by far all oracle, angle and tarot cards I have come across so far. It's timeless phrases put you straight back into your seat when you are feeling a bit out of sorts. There is no religious or new age hint to it. Just pure, simple, as-it-is comments. What a clever and wise man this Richard Bach!

Cards on the table, I loved "Illusions".
I'm delighted to have got hold of the lost handbook and it is all I hoped for. The simple "Koan-esque" truths just keep coming, and I look forward to the time when I don't have to riffle through and decide where to stop, but can just rely on the book to open for me, just where I need it to....

Once again Richard Bach has produced a book that captures the imagination in a 'tap behind the forehead' way. It makes some of the awkward moments in life make a bit more sense. In a 'tongue in cheek' way it really can make you realise that life just 'is' sometimes and, like the first rule to learn in life is, "Life's not always fair ... Get used to it!!" A handy book to guide you in the way you on the course you have chosen to follow, whatever that choice is.
