When the team arrive at a van abandoned on landfill sight they soon realise this is a case, the like they have never seen before. The van door is locked, the glass darkened, an angry buzzing inside. Phoebe is in the front seat, wasps crawling in and out of her open mouth: SAVE ME is written in blood on the windscreen. Red's analytical skills are stretched to the limit as he tries to fathom the workings of the mind of a killer determined to create their own Hell here on earth.

Renowned detective Joseph Walker is haunted by a past of violence, passion and betrayal - a past which threatens his ability to hunt down a killer with a terrifying message for the world. Heading up an investigation into a series of gruesome and elaborately staged murders, Joseph is puzzled by the bizarre nature of the killings and the presence of mysterious symbols traced into a layer of sand at each murder scene. To end the killings, Joseph must solve the riddle. But the clock is ticking - are Joseph and his new squad just tracking a criminal or are they themselves part of the murderer’s plan?

I have watched many crime dramas and this is by far the best that i have seen. It is full of unexpected twists and turns and keeps one in suspense until the very last minute.I would have to say it is not your usual run-of-the-mill crime drama. It is a cut above the rest. I had to watch the entire series in a few days because i was so enthralled by it! The actors and actresses all play their parts brilliantly and they are never boring. Especially Ken Stott. Fantastic in his role. Just when you think you may have worked out the culprits the tale takes another unexpected turn. I recommend this series to anyone who likes excellent acting, characters and clever plots. Buy it!

Having seen the very 1st messiah on tv years ago, I stumbled across this dvd collection and was delighted with my purchase, i have watched each episode many times now, the beauty to messiah lies in the deep storylines which have many levels to them, add this to some great acting from ken scott and co... they are all truly gripping. would defo recommend

All 5 series of this show are well worth a look. They do vary in quality, but all of them are worth a look. Recommended.

Messiah BBC Series
This was an excellent programme, keeping the viewer interested all the way through. The DVD set is certainly good value for money.
