Very informative book. From his humble background in Rosario to his dizzy heights in Spain. It reads well and gives all the details you could want. I just wish there was one written to cover this last two years so that the author could stop the constant debate about who was better, Messi or Maradonna. As we all know that comparison, thanks to the last two seasons, is like comparing Barcelona FC with the Cricketers Arms. Messi has proved himself to be the best footballer who has ever lived and not by a short distance either. Come on Luca, write another and this time lets have more about how he fared this last few years.

The first few chapters are more of a history of argentina with a few nuggets of info about messi,The rest of his family are mentioned more, there is more info about the falklands war and political unrest and dictatorship of the countrys leader. All the story of leo messi from the first few chapters could be fitted in to 1 small paragraph. Not Impressed at all.

The first few chapters relatin to Messi's early life are interesting. However, the chapters on more recent events are very superficial and contain too much stylised commentary on matches which you will have seen anyway if you follow the player. Also, it's very obviously translated and frequently reads awkwardly. Still, a pleasant easy read.

A good easy to read account of the journey of someone who is modestly giving so much to the world of football.

An excellent book on a great player. Considering his growth problems when he was young it is surprising that he made it at all, and the backing that FCB gave him paid out for the club and him. A well-written book with a lot of detail.
