This book is a lot like others in the series. It's an 8-1/4" x 11-3/4" square bound card cover of 96 pages. The first 40 pages are also much like others in the series. There is an excellent first hand account of an Me 262 combat mission. There is a short biography of Willy Messerschmitt and his company. There is a brief background of jet engine/gas turbine development. Then there is a design and development history which brings us up to the Normandy invasion and the Me 262 in full production.
Then the book goes where no other Monographs book has gone previously. We are treated to 50 odd pages of impressive CAD drawings showing all the minute details of the aircraft from many angles. The effect is exactly like that in Kagero's "3D" series which does the same for ships. This is a very welcome development which I hope we see more of in the future. There are dozens of books devoted to the Me 262 and it must be hard coming up with a fresh approach but Kagero has managed it. Well done.
The book is rounded out with line drawings depicting changes from variant to variant and there is one color profile with multiple views on the last page and back cover.
I look forward to the promised Me 262 Vol.2. I hope there are the usual comprehensive line drawings at various scales as I would hate to lose this feature. Highly recommended.
