About the Author

Born in 1962, Colin Fry received his first message at the age of 10, and became a professional medium at 17. I'm a working Psychic Medium but I'm also a plain old human being with questions and Colin's "The Message" helped me come to terms not only with my gift but with my own grieving process. There were phrases in it that really struck home like "sidestep the circumstances". Normally I can read a book in a day but this one slowed me down in time to think and assimilate. Thank you Colin.

I have seen Colin on stage several times but never read one of his books until now. Instead of finding the usual personal experience type of writing I found an amazing handbook full of practical, down-to-earth advice about handling bereavement written by a man who has phenomenal compassion. The book is easy to read, it isn't heavy handed or all doom and gloom, and I didn't find that it focussed me on the painful memories. Instead it takes the reader on a journey towards healing and emotional restoration. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this book to someone struggling to overcome grief.

I bought this book having read Colins previous ones and seeing him perform live. This was of particular interest to me as I lost my 6 year old Son 20 months ago and I guess I am looking for ways to heal. I will say that this book is ideal for anyone who has lost someone they love, it gives useful, helpful tips on how to carry on with life and heal your own life but I will also say that it is obvious that Colin has not lost a child as I found some of the things he suggested were things a bereaved parent would not be able to do and it made me quite angry. However, well worth a read, maybe not initially after bereavement but when you are ready to live again rather than just exist.
