I never tire of hearing it, 21 April 2004
This has been playing in my car for over 6 months now, I love it.Alizee has a stunning, sexy voice, and most of these songs convey that very well. The English versions probably should not have been done in my opinion: most of the lyrics (when translated) are quite strange (e.g. J'en ai Marre) and her pronunciation is not clear, I far prefer to listen to the French versions (and leave the rest to my imagination). A few of the songs are slower - more melancholy, but the 5 tracks that I listen to the most (3 of these have been released as singles in Europe), are up-beat, catchy, and I never tire of hearing them. Buy it!

Fortunately, her music hasn't changed as much as her hair!, 16 Aug 2003
Okay, so French music may not be everyone's 'cup of tea' but if you have never given it ago, what have you got to lose, I mean if you don't like the music you'll probably get a good laugh out of it! If you are a fan of Alizee's previous album 'Gourmandises' you will be aware of her often Eurovision style, with such songs as 'J.B.G' (James Bond girl, but I don't think she bought the right to use the name!) and 'Abracadabra'. These either had catchy 'poppy' tunes or weird cat sound effects, nevertheless once you are used to her style they make for good, if unusual listening. With her new album, I did at first think that she had possibly matured her music style when I heard much deeper and thoughtful songs as 'Tempete' and 'Coeur deja pris', in which Alizee's singing ability really shows through. However, it wasn't long until the good-old Alizee style we all know and love reappeared as I began listening to 'Youpidoo' (look, if you're confused by the name, oh dear, because after listening to the song you're likely to be beyond confused, drifting into the realms of dancing fairies). However, I can't put Alizee down for this as her style is her own (and Mylene Farmer's , as she writes all Alizees songs) and it is often nice to listen to something original, as oppose to the constant manufactured Britney Spears' that seem to be produced in bulk! An added bonus to her new album is Alizee's attempt at breaking the international market by singing four songs in English. At first I laughed, but then I did feel sorry for her as it seems she was thrown into singing English without really speaking the language, which adds for some interesting pronunciation, and in fact I have invented a little game if you are ever bored on a long winter night, get the old Alizee album out, drag out some old friends from the back of the cupboard and see who can identify what Alizee is saying when singing in English, ingenious! (I'm sure I could do better trying to understand the French, but there we are) Well anyway, whatever your taste in music is, it would not do any harm to own an Alizee album, her songs will always cheer you up, with their catchy tunes, and amusing lyrics, and you never know, it may come in useful.... when the wedding reception is drawing slowly to a close in the early hours pop on the Alizee album, and keep those old relatives you never new existed jigging along! It's a classic!

What did she say?..., 30 Jun 2003
This young girl has a very good voice. Since I loved her fist album Gourmandises so much, I knew I had to listen to this. Naturally, all her songs are in French. Well, don't get put off by that. Even if you have very little skill with the language, like me, you'll love the songs. The choruses are great and the music they produced to go along with the lady's nice voice is high quality, making the songs in general very addictive. The genre of this album I guess is French Pop. If you like pop music you hear over here, and remember how good Lolita, the song she released for the UK is, then you won't be disappointed. I have no idea most of the time what she sings but its so nice to listen to that it doesn't matter. It doesn't matter at all.
