Superb Merlin reference book 22 April 2014
By Aisling D'Art - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Hardcover Verified Purchase
If you need historical references related to Merlin, this is one of the best collections you'll find anywhere. R. J. Stewart and John Matthews bring an excellent balance of archaeology, history, folklore, and mystical views together in this remarkable reference book.

For most people, this isn't a page-turner. It's not a "storybook," but an actual compilation of what's been said about or attributed to Merlin. (If you want a page-turner, see Mary Stewart's novels, beginning with "The Hollow Hills.")

"Merlin Through the Ages" is a reference book, though each section is very readable if you're looking for reliable academic information.

Highly recommended for serious students of Merlin who want the key documents in one place.
