One of the welds on my Merkur Vision 2000 has just failed - part of the mechanism that holds the blade. The razor has lasted three years. In a way, I am glad, because I can buy a new razor - and it won't be a Vision 2000. I just logged on Amazon to find another razor and I discover that the three star review I posted in 2007 against the Vision 2000 is no longer displayed and miraculously, the product now has five stars.
My comments in 2007 still hold true.
Too heavy and unwieldy.
Inserting the blade may be easy, but removing the blade is fiddly.
Provides a fabulous shave when the adjustment is tuned.
Very well engineered.
I would suggest the Merkur Future would be the better option - as long as the blade gap can be adjusted in the same way as the Vision 2000.
