I bought this book in order to service an E220 that I had recently purchased. The book provided me with all the information I needed and is generally well put together and illustrated. It's not perfect as some of the information is clearly generic and does not apply specifically to the E class Mercedes. Likewise sometimes the text is not all that clear with duplication etc. That said there is plenty of useful statistical data in the book and it's well worth having.

There is some usefull information in this book, but only some... I find the general content too superficial as opposed to the manuals from Haynes. The drawrings are rather rough and not very detailed and if one is looking for details of tuning and fixing, this book does not give very much information. I regret to sound this negative.

My 1994 E200 - has had a idling and start problem for last few months, the car would not stay running until the engine was warm and the idle RPM was 1200. It was getting to the point that I was thinking of scrapping car as the ICU and ECU replacements would cost a fortune, and from all the infomation I had (including internet, garages and other manuals) the Icu and ECU had to be the problem. Saw this book ordered it to give the car one last chance.
The manual has detail on how the ignition system should be set up, my ignition setup was wrong, I reset it as the book describes, took about 15minutes. The car started first time, and idled smoothly at 900RPM which dropped to 750RPM when the engine warmed.
I am very happy with the book , it has detail and guidence presented in an understandable and clear way and the level of detail is more appropiate than I have found elsewhere, and it saved my car from the scrap yard.
