A no frills, unsophisticated collection of sometimes crudely photocopied press cuttings scattered across a slim black and white paperback.
Nonetheless, a pleasant snapshot from the motoring journalists of the 1970's enthusing about possibly one of the best and ultimately influential cars of that decade.
Road tests and reviews from the United Kingdom, USA, Australia and South Africa eagerly portray a car designed without comprimise or regard to cost. All models appear to be covered, from the 6 cylinder 280SE right up to the storming 450 SEL 6.9, second fastest car of it's time only to the Ferrari 308. If you're interested in the history of the Mercedes W116 model then this should be a compulsory purchase.
Would benefit however from dates and source publication details to accompany each article instead of just at the beginning of the book.
