I bought this book on the back of the perfect reviews it had received here on Amazon. However I found the book to offer little substance and practical concepts. It uses language which I would describe as "management speak" that sounds good but doesn't really have an applicable value. Maybe I am being a little harsh and there are a few good points in there. I just found that after I read a chapter I wasn't really sure what or how to use anything that had been in there and so moved onto the next chapter. It is a very quick read at just 174 pages with reasonably large type.
As someone who has read many psychology/mindset books to help with sports performance there was nothing new. In the whole book I only found two points/tools that added a little to what I already know so maybe it would be better for people who have not read much in this genre before. (By the way the best book on sport psychology for me is still Ahead of the Game by Jeremy Lazarus which takes a more scientific approach).
Having looked again at the reviews for this book most are by reviewers with only this being there only review and a few say they received the book before it was published. Maybe they are people who know the author and are a little biased in opinion. With regard to the author he talks little of his own success and we only know that he played basketball, he doesn't mention to what level, and so whether he has used these concepts himself to be successful is unknown. He does say that he has worked with elite athletes and business people including a top female golfer and the England Cricket Team among others.
In summary I would say this book offers little that can be used in a practical sense and there are many books out there which offer much better advice and content.
