4.0 out of 5 stars Great but Need to Search for Info 29 Sep 2013
By Bahama Soap Mama - Published on
This is a great teaching tool. I am currently doing it on my own and having to improvise as many of the assignments require a partner.

A few things though:

- The CD's for the lessons are actually online. They are available for download free on zip files found on the site for the
book under "lehrer".
- The video clips at the end of each module are found on Youtube. I was searching and searching and searching to no avail.
Was very releived when I finally found them.
- The DVD-ROM has the entire book plus extra activities you can click on for further learning. I actually like this part, good
for independent study.
- Online there are extra things to do with the workbook. Still exploring all that they have

All and all a very good source but I couldn't give it 5 stars because I had to hunt for the materials I needed and don't quite understand why the audio and clips aren't on the DVD-ROM.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great approach to adult language learning. 21 Nov 2013
By Lynn A. Nelson - Published on
As a bilingual (Spanish/English) teacher trying to learn German, I really like this text. I wrote a review of the Arbeitsbuch (Menschen Heir) that accompanies this text, and as I state in that review, the approach is different than the traditional language texts that emphasize travel phrases; they focus on language that would be useful in the work world. Also the book is completely in German, and I really like the immersion approach.

The copies of the book I had included the CDs, but the software did not work very well on my PC. There are additional exercises on line to supplement the text, and they vary in difficulty.

I rated this at four stars because it is not perfect, but as I said in the Arbeitsbuch, the work in the text seems simple but is more challenging to do that it appears.
