Format:Audio CD
This album pre-dates the 4-CD John Lennon Anthology and is not as interesting or rewarding. A collection of out-takes and weaker material from the Rock n Roll and Walls and Bridges albums, it is neverthess an interesting listen.
The alternative versions of familiar songs from Walls and Bridges aren't very different from the selected versions, but are worth a listen or two as try-outs and demos. For example, Steel and Glass gets an acoustic based treatment which makes it sound less like its notorious parent, How Do You Sleep?
The Rock n Roll songs were not included on that album; Rock and Roll People is perhaps the best of these, a nice Lennon rocker with piercing slide guitar from (probably) Jesse Ed Davis. To Know Her is to Love Her is a throwback to the Beatles Decca audition tape which doesn't quite come off.
Sound is OK but little different to the LP and there are no CD bonus tracks.

Tunes that didn't make it onto Rock and Roll and unaddorned run-throughs for Walls and Bridges songs.
There's not a lot to get excited about but a must-have to complete the set of available material, I would say.
